Youth Programs

Temple Sholom offers active youth programs for children in 2nd–6th grades, as well as teen programs for 7th-8th graders.

Youth groups at Temple Sholom combine social, educational, religious and social action programs to create opportunities for the synagogue’s children to create lasting friendships with each other and a strong connection to the Jewish community. All these groups provide a variety of age-appropriate, informal educational activities. Children of all Temple Sholom members are encouraged to participate in our youth activities programs. Participation in our youth groups is also open to non-members.

2nd–4th graders meet monthly, usually on Sundays immediately following religious school. Some past programs have included Wacky Olympics, "Cupcake Wars," arts & craft projects at Art Palooza, a chocolate seder and more.

At the beginning of each school year, 5th–6th  graders get together at a social event and help plan activities for the year. Past programs have included laser tag, bowling and scavenger hunts.

7th–8th graders focus on community service through social action projects and visits to Nathaniel Witherall, and participate in fun, team-building activities such as a trip to a local ropes course.

Our Sholom Lounge is used as a hang out space for our youth and is equipped with ping pong, foosball and air hockey, video games, and a big screen TV.
