Our Community
Our Community
Judaism is all about community. With every communal activity, we strive to reflect central Jewish values: justice, freedom, concern for our less fortunate neighbors, compassion toward each other and care of our natural world. Temple Sholom offers its members a warm and welcoming community with many opportunities for education, prayer, social action and informal ways to get to know one another. Our programs and activities depend on the level of involvement and leadership of our members.
Our Temple Sholom community consists of nearly 650 families from Greenwich, Rye Brook, Stamford, Armonk and the surrounding areas. We are part of a rapidly developing, vibrant Jewish community that has seen dramatic growth over the past 15 years. Our local Jewish community consists of 2,000 to 2,500 Jewish families with three different Jewish day schools within a short drive. Our community is blessed with many active Jewish organizations and readily available kosher food from a variety of stores. Our close proximity to New York City allows us to bring well known speakers, lecturers, writers, musicians and artists to our synagogue for the benefit of our members.
We welcome you to explore our Jewish community and become actively involved in our congregation.
