Youth Programs

Youth Programs

Temple Sholom offers active youth programs for children in 2nd through 8th grades, as well as teen programs for 8th-12th graders.

Youth groups at Temple Sholom combine social, educational, religious and social action programs to create opportunities for the synagogue’s children to create lasting friendships with each other and a strong connection to the Jewish community. All these groups provide a variety of age-appropriate, informal educational activities. Children of all Temple Sholom members are encouraged to participate in our youth activities programs. Participation in our youth groups is also open to non-members. Scroll down to see our upcoming events!

Our four youth groups are:

B’yachad: (2nd - 3rd grade)
Children meet monthly to create arts & crafts projects, make ice-cream sundaes, watch movies, play games or cook.

Ruach: (4th - 5th grade)
Meets once a month, usually rotating between an on-site program and an off-premises program.

Kadima: (6th - 8th grade)
A stepping stone for participation in BBYO, Kadima’s monthly programs provide social, athletic and recreational opportunities, often incorporating a mitzvah component.

BBYO: (8th - 12th grade)
Learn about the Judah Chapter of BBYO at Temple Sholom

Family Programs

Family Programs

At Temple Sholom we offer a large variety of family friendly services and programs for children of all ages as well as teenagers. Family programming works in conjunction with the Religious School, the Nursery School and our Youth groups to bring families into the synagogue for educational, social, and social action activities.

For services during the High Holidays, we offer a Young Family Children's Service for grades 2 and younger, a Family Service for grades 2 and above, as well as a teenage-led service. This year Rav David Saiger will be leading both the Young Family Children's Services and Family Services along with Rabbi Mitchell M. Hurvitz on the High Holidays.
