Temple Sholom is a special place for singers of Jewish music. Our congregation's choirs provide music at many of our Shabbat and Festival worship services, and also participate in performance opportunities throughout the year. There are three choirs at Temple Sholom for musicians of all ages:
Shir Hadash - Temple Sholom's Adult Volunteer Choir
The Temple Sholom adult volunteer choir, Shir Hadash, performs at Sukkot and sings at Passover and Shavuot as well other occasions such as Simchat Torah, Hannukah and Purim. Shir Hadash gives adults a wonderful opportunity to learn the music of Shabbat and Festival services and to become part of Temple Sholom’s culture of musicianship and joyful worship participation.
Are you a teen who loves to sing?
Sasson is an elite teen choir for 13 to 17 year olds. Participants in Sasson may receive compensation or community service hours for their time. Sasson performs on Shabbat mornings once a month and at holidays and festivals, and provides a chance for our teen musicians to participate in Jewish choral/music festivals and performances throughout the region.
Temple Sholom Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is Temple Sholom's musical resource for children who want to learn more about music, stage presence, teamwork and Jewish holiday music. Our Youth Choir sings during High Holiday services and at many other events throughout the temple year.
