Madrichim are teen volunteer leaders in the Temple Sholom Religious School. School hours are 4:15 pm–6:15 pm on Tuesdays and 9:00 am–11:00 am on Sundays. Madrichim can choose one or both of these school days. Over the course of the school year, a madrich can learn a huge amount about teaching and working with a team, have lots of fun and earn between 50 and 100 hours of community service.

Religious School Office Madrich

Help ensure the smooth operations of the Religious School office during classroom hours.

Assist with collections from the classrooms, preparations of materials, mailings, handouts and other necessary tasks.

Learn practical office skills ranging from communication and computer skills to classroom preparation techniques.

Religious School Classroom Madrich

Work side-by-side with a teacher in the classroom. 

Serve as a one-on-one resource for students.

Facilitate discussion groups and may earn the responsibility of teaching a lesson.

Learn classroom management. 

Curriculum planning and basic teaching skills. 

Learn to facilitate relationships with youth.

Oversee the mobile computer lab.

Assist in the classrooms where computers are being used.

Secure computers at the end of the day.

Download software as needed.

Help take photos/videos of school activities and upload data.
